FAQ and More Info

Do you take my insurance?
I currently do not accept insurance and only accept private pay. I can provide superbills upon request to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. These contain the documentation and coding that your insurance provider may require, however, it is always your responsibility to understand your personal insurance plan and benefits, including visit limits.

How do you take payment?
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept checks and all major credit cards. Your flexible spending account (FSA) or healthcare savings account (HSA) can also be used for most speech and language therapy services. I can provide a superbill for services if required by your HSA/FSA company.

Can I come to your clinic?
I’m a mobile speech therapist – I come to you! No waiting rooms, traffic, or buckling kids into car seats! I strive to provide therapy that is more effective because it takes place in your child’s natural environment, and I partner with parents so that the skills learned in therapy are regularly practiced at home. This sets your child up for success!
For older children I also offer teletherapy, which has been proven to be just as effective as in-person therapy.

Can you treat my child at their daycare while I'm at work?
With your permission, the answer is typically yes! This is dependent on your provider and may vary.

How do we get started?
We'll start with a free phone consultation to discuss your child and your concerns. If an evaluation has not been performed in the last year, we will schedule one. If an evaluation has already been performed by Early On, school, or other entity, we can discuss those results. After that, we can determine a speech therapy schedule that works for you and your family. We'll also collaborate on goals for your child, which will guide the focus of speech therapy sessions.
Many parents choose to add private speech therapy to help their child's progress when they are already receiving speech therapy at school, or if they didn't qualify for services with Early On or school, to encourage their child's growth and skill development.

What does a speech therapy session look like?
This can vary by a child’s age, engagement style, and personalized speech therapy goals. I always try to build relationships with children through fun, engaging activities that promote intrinsic motivation and a growth mindset. For littles, I incorporate Greenspan’s DIR/Floortime model for relationship-based play in my therapy sessions, and they think I’m just coming over to play! For older children we may play games, color/draw, and use their personal interests in therapy. All sessions are 45 minutes long, with the last 5-10 minutes being used for parent communication.
